Lewis has lived in the Black Country for almost all his life and has had a passion for fitness for as long as he can remember! His obsession with the industry led him to spend years researching what the best coaches and athletes from across the world value most… He soon realised that it was drastically different to what most the UK’s budget gyms were offering – that’s when he and his team set out to create what is now one of the most prestigious gyms in the country and is known worldwide for offering athlete level coaching and specialist equipment that is available to anyone.
Our mission is to offer a unique gym that focuses completely on member experience. We offer state-of-the-art equipment, a friendly atmosphere and specialist coaching to transform people’s lives to suit all levels and abilities. We’ve created an environment where we believe the atmosphere is just as important as the equipment. We let our members decide what music plays, how loud they want it, and we welcome the use of lifting chalk. Creating an inclusive, friendly and supportive atmosphere is one of the main goals of Black Country Barbell.

I'm a Crossfit Coach and Personal Trainer who specialises in helping you move with confidence and feel great about yourself. I believe that in achieving good movement, we maximise potential to excel in life. It allows us to bring intensity to our sessions and move the needle from wellness, to fitness. I don't want you to just look great for your holiday, I want you to look great for life.
With significant experience within the fitness industry, I provide world-class coaching with a cultivating blend of evidence-based practice and pragmatic approaches to coaching solutions. This enables you, as the athlete, to attain the highest level of physical preparedness and competitive superiority within your respective sport.
I've been working as a professional coach for 7 years, and within that time I've trained people out of commercial gyms, home gyms and parks all the way through to semi-professional athletes whose livelihoods rely on their performance. Over this time I've realised one thing - the mindset doesn't change depending on your goal, you get what you're willing to work for.
For every goal, a strong baseline over the core lifts is essential and I make it a solid focus of mine to develop my client’s technique and confidence in these lifts so that they can push their own limitations beyond what they thought they were capable of. Additionally, I like to work with my clients as much as possible to create plans that they would be able to complete on their own, outside of our sessions and still achieve the results they desire.
I Hi! My name is Kiri and I'm a REPs Level 3 Pilates instructor specialising in mat Pilates, functional mobility, stretching and flexibility. Stretching and flexibility training is often recommended after exercise - it can help reduce muscle soreness, cramps and risk of injury, as well as improve overall athletic performance and range of motion for day-to-day quality of life.
Stretching is just one very important fitness component; the best results are achieved when stretching is used in combination with other injury reduction techniques and conditioning exercises, like Pilates, which is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility, muscular strength and endurance movements.
I'm a strength coach focusing on 1-2-1 coaching, group coaching and online coaching nationally, to guide all clients to their true potential. My specialism is in Olympic Weightlifting and developing athletic foundations to improve athletic performance and reduce injury risk. As well as my passion for coaching athletes, I am a regular sportsman having competed in a number of Olympic Weightlifting competitions.
